About Kathleen

Kathleen is a Grimsby born artist who originally came to volunteer on 'The Great Wall of Grimsby'. After enjoying the mural painting and working with the team, she has carried on working with us since then.

She has previously worked on many sculpture trails around the UK, including the Knights trail in Lincoln and the Heart trail throughout Lincolnshire.

To date she has painted 25 sculptures from Manchester to Brighton and Cardiff to Bridlington and many towns in between. She often has a range of animals waiting for painting around her house!

Instead of going to art college she trained as a nurse working mainly within Accident and Emergency and Cardio thoracic specialities. Eventually realising she wanted to go back to working within the arts she studied Jewellery and Object degree at Lincoln University followed by

a masters in Design (Three dimensional).

She has now been working as an artist and designer for 15 years, generally combining her skills with community art. She uses a combination of painting, metalwork and 3D printing within her work and fits this around each project she is working on.

Her work generally focuses on nature and wildlife and helping people learn more about their local environment and why we need to protect it.
